curvenote build

curvenote build writes the exports listed in your pages’ frontmatter, or the formats you name. With no format flags it builds the exports defined in the project; add files to build only those.

curvenote build --pdf
curvenote build paper.md --docx
curvenote build --all

Exports land in _build/exports unless an export’s output says otherwise. curvenote clean removes them again.

Checks and continuous integration

  • --strict: summarize the warnings and exit with an error if there are any errors, so a CI job fails.

  • --check-links: check that every external link resolves, and report the broken ones.

  • --ci: say that the command is running in continuous integration.

  • --doi-bib: write myst.doi.bib with BibTeX for every citation loaded from a DOI.

Notebooks and watching

  • --execute: run the Jupyter Notebooks before exporting them; --execute-parallel <n> sets how many at once.

  • --watch: rebuild when a file changes.

  • --max-size-webp <MB>: the largest image converted to WebP, 1.5 MB by default.

  • --port <port> and --keep-host: the server settings used by --html, as in curvenote start.
